Black Box Corporation Announces Acquisition of Mutual Telecom Services. Mutual Telecom Services Inc. (MTS) represents approximately $46 million in annual historical revenues. 

 

Pittsburgh, PA., July 29, 2008 Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ:BBOX - News) today announced the acquisition of Mutual Telecom Services Inc. (MTS), a privately-held company based out of Needham, MA. MTS is a global telecommunications services and solutions provider primarily servicing clients in the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. Annual historical revenues of MTS are approximately $46 million.  

Steven Clancy, former MTS owner, commented, “We are excited about our potential to make an immediate impact to the success of Black Box through our unparalleled service delivery capability and broad customer base.” Mr. Clancy will report to Terry Blakemore, Black Box President and Chief Executive Officer.  

Commenting on the acquisition, Mr. Blakemore stated, “MTS has built an industry-leading voice solutions engineering and implementation capability, complemented by a global logistical deployment arm capable of conducting industry-leading operations in the harshest locations which include Iraq and Afghanistan. This acquisition will add depth to our voice solutions engineering resources, as well as broaden our worldwide implementation capabilities.” 

This transaction is being accounted for as a purchase. The purchase price has not been disclosed.
